I am an ARTIST and a DESIGNER.
As a 2-dimensional ARTIST, working on paper or canvas, I am as focused on the abstract qualities of the details
as on the overall piece. Allowing nature to guide my hand I become a natural visual force.
As a DESIGNER, I am using my unique human skill to plan, arrange and take control of the formatted space
and show the viewer what I want them to see.
The two together are the tools all artists wield whatever their medium. When creating a time-sequenced video,
the ability to make one image flow into another while carrying the story forward is the essence of DESIGN, while the ARTIST creates the frames and characters that are the body of the work.
ABSTRACT

REAL

This figure is the source of the surrounding details. While creating body contours by placing dots in linear arrangements,
I found myself coloring and placing the "beads" randomly, according to no logical plan.
The subject was revealed to me near completion... wounds incurred throughout a lifetime; the sort that many women carry;
invisible, but painful enough to keep the victim silent for decades.
